The Task Force for Global Health is delighted to welcome Dr. Alicia Fry as the new Director of The Task Force’s Center for Vaccine Equity (CVE).
As CVE Director, Dr. Fry will also serve as a member of Task Force’s Executive Team and help guide overall strategy for the Task Force. The Center for Vaccine Equity was established in 2011, houses all Task Force vaccine programs and helps governments establish sustainable immunization programs.
Dr. Fry was selected as CVE’s new Director, succeeding Dr. Mark McKinlay who moved from his previous position as CVE Director to become the Director of the Polio Eradication Center within CVE. Before stepping into her role as CVE Director, Dr. Fry served as Director of Clinical Operations and Health Services at Fulton County Board of Health, where she oversaw clinical operations (including immunization) aimed at preventing illnesses at five County Health Centers.

Prior to her role at Fulton County, Dr. Fry served 23 years in various roles at CDC, most recently as Chief of the Epidemiology and Prevention Branch of the Influenza Division, where she managed a branch of over 100 staff members and a budget of nearly $100 million. Before becoming Branch Chief, Dr. Fry served as Lead of the Influenza Prevention and Control Team and Medical Officer in the International Surveillance and Research teams.

The following Task Force programs are part of CVE: Brighton Collaboration, Polio Eradication Center, Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination, Voices for Vaccines and the Respiratory Virus Prevention and Preparedness (RVPP) programs. RVPP is comprised of the Partnership for International Vaccine Initiatives, the COVID-19 Vaccine Implementation Program (CoVIP), the Global Funders Consortium for Universal Influenza Vaccine Development as well as SONAR (Strengthening Outbreak Notification And Response), a Global Fund program implemented by The Task Force.
