Task Force for Global Health experts spoke at The American Society for Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (ASTMH) 2023 annual meeting in Chicago from October 18 to 22.
ASTMH is the largest international scientific organization of experts dedicated to reducing the worldwide burden of tropical infectious diseases and improving global health. This year’s theme was From Evidence to Action. Task Force participants included more than a dozen representatives from multiple Task Force programs, such as:
Children Without Worms (CWW), which aims to eliminate soil-transmitted helminths as a public health problem.

The Neglected Tropical Diseases Support Center (NTD-SC), which facilitates research on tools and techniques to control and eliminate neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). NTD-SC experts at the conference include:
Symposium: Overcoming the Lymphatic Filariasis and Onchocerciasis Cliff to accelerate the elimination of two filarial diseases & The importance of integrated post-validation surveillance for lymphatic filariasis and onchocerciasis
