Forbes Ranks The Task Force Second Largest U.S. Charity

The Task Force for Global Health is ranked second in Forbes‘ 2016 list of the 50 largest U.S. charities, up from fourth place in 2015.

Each year, Forbes ranks U.S. charities based on levels of private support. For fiscal year 2016, The Task Force had revenue of $3.2 billion, which consists mostly of in-kind donations of medicines from pharmaceutical companies.

The Task Force’s revenue doubled from fiscal year 2015 due to significant increases of antibiotic donations from Pfizer for the elimination of a neglected tropical disease called trachoma. From 2015 to 2016, Pfizer increased its donation from 62 million doses to more than 120 million doses.

“Pfizer is proud to be a major partner of The Task Force for Global Health,” said Caroline Roan, vice president for corporate responsibility at Pfizer. “We are committed to working with The Task Force and other international partners on this important mission to help eliminate blinding trachoma by 2020.”

With Pfizer’s 2016 donation to The Task Force, the global need for antibiotic for trachoma elimination is now being met.
