Expanding the TEPHINET Network: New Director Shares His Vision for the Program

As of August 2019, The Task Force for Global Health’s Training Programs in Epidemiology and Public Health Interventions Network (TEPHINET), which helps build countries’ disease surveillance and outbreak response capacity, welcomed its new director, Carl Reddy, MB.BCh, FCPHM, M.Sc.(Epi). The Task Force is extremely honored to have such a dedicated leader at the helm of one of our largest programs.

Since March 2013, Reddy served as the director of the South African Field Epidemiology Training Program (SAFETP) housed within the National Institute of Communicable Diseases of South Africa. In June 2016, the leadership of TEPHINET’s member programs elected him for a three-year term as the chairman of the TEPHINET Advisory Board.

Known among his colleagues for his love of language, culture, and salsa dancing, Reddy speaks English, Spanish, French, Afrikaans and Zulu and is more than a perfect addition to our Task Force family. Join us in welcoming Reddy to the TEPHINET team and watch the video above to learn more about his vision for the global network of epidemiology training programs.
