Internships and Fellowships
We are looking for exceptional students interested in having meaningful educational experiences in global health. Throughout the year, we take on interns and fellows from many backgrounds to learn about and assist our programs and operations.
See current opportunities here.
We offer limited paid and unpaid internships, as well as paid fellowships, for currently enrolled students in high school, undergraduate, and graduate programs. Our goals are to provide students with opportunities to learn from world-renowned public health subject matter experts and experience working with partnerships. Under general supervision, students will receive exposure to broad and stimulating projects that will complement their academic and career interests. Depending on the school, students may also receive academic credit.
General Internship Information
In addition to the posted above opportunities, we now accept internship interest forms on a rolling basis. Completed interest forms will be shared with the appropriate Task Force program contacts. At this time, our internship opportunities are on an ad hoc basis. As such, applications are accepted on a rolling basis. We are working on formalizing a more structured internship program. Specific student employment opportunities are posted on this careers page and on Handshake, depending on program needs. Our website will be regularly updated with new opportunities.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at: askhr@taskforce.org
The Task Force will review applications and select applicants based on their interest and The Task Force’s current ability to support their interest.
Since 2007, GSK has provided The Task Force with a grant to offer meaningful real world experience and mentoring to graduate students pursuing degrees in disciplines related to global health. Each year, The Task Force selects two graduate students for an eight-week summer opportunity. The fellowship will provide compensation to the fellow in the form of a $2,500 stipend.
When these positions are available, these will be posted through Emory and linked above.

What is Working at The Task Force Like?
The Task Force is a mission-driven, entrepreneurial culture. We work in teams to solve the toughest global health problems. The nature of our work requires our team members to be flexible and willing to take on new challenges without hesitation. We are not a process-focused organization – and pride ourselves in translating new ideas into effective actions that improve health outcomes.
We practice high levels of collaboration within and among all of our programs. We regularly share updates and best practices with one another, and identify opportunities for increasing our collective impact.
Our culture is collegial and we focus on building relationships in the workplace. As a result, we recognize exceptional contributions, but practice a high degree of humility. The people whom we serve are always our focus. We are unrelenting and optimistic about the prospects for a healthier world.
One of our greatest strengths is our diversity of talent and ideas. We support the principles of equal opportunity and equal representation. We recruit people with the best combinations of education, training, and professional experience needed for the work that we do. Many of our team members are bi-lingual or multi-lingual, reflecting the international nature of our work.
Although most programmatic positions require a public health background, we actively recruit people from the other fields who can leverage their skills for our work.
We nurture the growth of our staff including supporting professional development to build technical and leadership skills. Many positions have opportunities for advancement within programs. Because our programs include positions with similar functions our team members can pursue different opportunities across the organization.
