Director, Global Partnership for Zero Leprosy

Courtenay is the Secretariat Director for the Global Partnership for Zero Leprosy.  In this role she oversees activities leading to the partnership’s shared goal:  zero disease, zero disability, zero discrimination.

Paul Emerson, PhD

Director, International Trachoma Initiative

Paul Emerson, PhD, is director of the International Trachoma Initiative (ITI), a program of The Task Force for Global Health. In this role, Dr. Emerson is responsible for the overall success of ITI’s trachoma elimination efforts with program partner Pfizer to achieve the global elimination of blinding trachoma by the year 2020. Prior to joining The Task Force, Dr. Emerson was the director for the Trachoma Control program at The Carter Center, where he provided oversight to program activities in Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Ghana, South Sudan, Sudan, and Ethiopia. Dr. Emerson also served as the co-director of the Malaria Control Program at The Carter Center.

Rubina Imtiaz, MD

Director, Children Without Worms

Rubina Imtiaz, MD, is director for Children Without Worms, a program of The Task Force for Global Health. In this role, Dr. Imtiaz oversees The Task Force’s work to reduce intestinal worm infections that affect more than one billion people worldwide. Prior to joining The Task Force, Dr. Imtiaz worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for more than 20 years. Most recently, she managed CDC’s West Africa regional programs for HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in seven African countries. Prior to CDC, Dr. Imtiaz worked in roles at UNICEF and The Carter Center. In the latter position, she was an integral contributor to Guinea worm eradication in Pakistan.

Patrick Lammie, PhD

Director, Neglected Tropical Diseases Support Center

Patrick Lammie, PhD, is the director for the Neglected Tropical Diseases Support Center (NTD-SC), a program of The Task Force for Global Health. In this role, Dr. Lammie provides technical guidance and strategic oversight to NTD-SC’s operational research projects.

Mark McKinlay, PhD

Director, Center for Vaccine Equity

Mark McKinlay, PhD, is director for the Center for Vaccine Equity (CVE), a program of The Task Force for Global Health. In this role, Dr. McKinlay oversees The Task Force’s work to increase access to vaccines for cholera and influenza in developing countries. He also guides The Task Force’s work to help eradicate polio. Prior to joining The Task Force, Dr. McKinlay co-founded two pharmaceutical companies where he focused on the development of novel medicines to treat cancer and the common cold.

Eric Ottesen, MD

Senior Advisor, Neglected Tropical Diseases Support Center

Eric Ottesen, MD, is the senior advisor of the Neglected Tropical Diseases Support Center (NTD-SC), a program of The Task Force for Global Health. In this role, Dr. Ottesen oversees The Task Force’s operational research on tools and techniques to improve NTD control and elimination programs. Prior to joining The Task Force, Dr. Ottesen served as project leader of the Filariasis Elimination Programme at the World Health Organization.

Martha Rogers, MD

Director, African Health Workforce Project

Martha Rogers, MD, serves as director of the African Health Workforce Project, a project of The Task Force for Global Health. In this role, Dr. Rogers focuses on building strong human resource information systems for managing healthcare workers in Kenya and Zambia. These systems help ensure quality healthcare by tracking the training, regulation, and deployment of the healthcare workforce, and help inform health care policy in these countries. Prior to joining The Task Force, Dr. Rogers spent 19 years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), mostly in work related to the control of HIV/AIDS worldwide.

Vivian Singletary, MBA

Director, Public Health Informatics Institute

Vivian Singletary, MBA, serves as director of the Public Health Informatics Institute (PHII), a program of The Task Force for Global Health. In this role, Vivian guides PHII’s work to improve health outcomes worldwide by strengthening health practitioners’ abilities to use information effectively. Vivian joined The Task Force for Global Health in 2009 after more than 15 years in leadership positions in supply chain management for Home Depot and M&M Mars.

Yao Sodahlon, MD, MSc

Director, Mectizan Donation Program

Yao Sodahlon, MD, MSc, is director of the Mectizan Donation Program (MDP), a program of The Task Force for Global Health. In this role, Dr. Sodahlon works closely with public and private partners, including Merck and GSK, to provide medicines to eliminate river blindness worldwide, and lymphatic filariasis in countries where the two diseases are co-endemic. Dr. Sodahlon assumed leadership of MDP in October of 2016, after serving ten years as the program’s Senior Associate Director. Prior to joining The Task Force, he worked in the Ministry of Health of Togo, leading a range of public health and disease-control programs, including malaria, tuberculosis, schistosomiasis, and lymphatic filariasis.

Director, MedSurplus Alliance

As the Director of the Task Force’s MedSurplus Alliance program Lori leads a cross-sector alliance of medical surplus donors, medical surplus recovery organizations, and product recipients.
