In collaboration with WebsEdge TV and the Measles Initiative partners, AMMRIRIA (Accelerated Measles Mortality Reduction Improving Routine Immunizations in Africa), a project of the Task Force for Global Health, produced Measles Control: success in the balance for the 2010 Canadian Conference on Global Health. The video highlights the threat of measles resurgence in sub-Saharan Africa. In the past year more than 30 sub-Saharan African nations have experienced significant measles outbreaks. In contrast the country of Ghana has emerged as a success story in the region. The video includes interviews with both regional and national Ghanaian representatives outlining elements of Ghana’s national approach to immunization. Production of the video was made possible in part by support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
