National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable

The mission of this Task Force project is to develop, implement and maintain a national strategy to eliminate viral hepatitis in the United States. The National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable provides a national network and voice for those with a shared commitment to this mission, at the local, state, and national levels.

Additionally, the National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) conducts both programmatic and policy work related to the elimination of viral hepatitis and improving viral hepatitis programs through increased funding and community education. The project focuses on building a national network, developing partnerships throughout the public and private sectors, and building the capacity necessary to improve essential health education and services to prevent viral hepatitis.

NVHR presents and coordinates a range of educational materials, including fact sheets, newsletters, and advocacy materials to inform members and the public about the issues and improve viral hepatitis services and programs in the United States. The goal of NVHR is to:

  • Build the capacity to eliminate viral hepatitis
  • Vaccinate America for hepatitis A and B
  • Counsel, test and refer persons at risk for viral hepatitis to appropriate programs and services
  • Provide Care for persons with chronic viral hepatitis
  • Research improved treatments for hepatitis B and C and a vaccine to prevent hepatitis C
